Final Destination 5 is an upcoming 2011 3D horror film written by Eric Heisserer and directed by Steven Quale. It is the fifth installment in the Final Destination film franchise and will star Nicholas D'Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner, and Tony Todd. Todd is the only returning cast member of the series. The world premiere was August 4 2011 at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal, Canada. It will be released in Real D 3D and digital IMAX 3D.

Location filming returned to Vancouver, where the first three films were shot. Shooting with 3D cameras began in September 2010. Producers have said that this installment will be darker and more suspenseful in style to the original film, rather than the almost comedic route of the fourth film.
Final Destination 3 star Chelan Simmons revealed that the opening scene would be filmed on the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver.
Final Destination has had its release date moved but its good news for a change. The studio has decided to move its release date up from August 26th to August 12, 2011 according to BloodyDigusting.--
